The truth of the matter is that Daunte Wright had a warrant for his arrest and was driving with expired plates and resisted arrest and was shot while he was trying to get into his vehicle to flee.  The officer mistakenly grabbed her gun instead of her taser.  It is tragic to see anyone die but at what point do we hold Daunte Wright accountable for his actions, his actions that heavily contributed to his own tragic and untimely death.  Officers must make split second decisions in highly intense situations.  While she did make the mistake of grabbing her taser because he went to reach inside his vehicle she may have been just as justified to use deadly force because the officers couldn’t tell if he was going for a gun or was just trying to flee the scene.
